PLANCOFIX
FULFILL YOUR DREAM OF AN ACCESSIBLE WALK-IN SHOWER
TREND: BARRIER-FREE SHOWERS
Your bathroom has the charm of the 70´s and you would like to redesign it into a modern and barrier-free walk-in shower with trouble-free access?
There are a lot of bathrooms with high shower trays of up to 20 cm in height which can constitute a major obstacle for many people – not just for elders and people with handicaps, even young families with design claims prefer the accessible bathroom design.
Everybody who wants to build up a new house or renovate an old building today, often require a barrier-free bathroom with a walk in handicap shower area.
While this is pretty easy to implement in a new building, there could be some obstacles when a bathroom in an old building should be modernized. Especially in old buildings the floor installation heights are often very low. So without enough impounding depth the shower water cannot drain. The slope is not sufficient enough to transport the sewage to the next downpipe.
THE ISSUE WITH OLD BUILDINGS
The easy exchange of the old shower tray for a conventional flat shower drain is usually impossible due to the floor foundation. In case of removal of the old floor screed and insulation, the incidental shower water must flow against the flow direction to reach the available gravity downpipe. A physical limitation that cannot be ignored.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS IMPOSSIBLE - THANKS TO PLANCOFIX
The floor drainage pump PLANCOFIX is able to solve this problem. The PLANCOFIX can be installed everywhere where the installation was not possible before, due to the missing gravity flow. That´s how the dream of a walk-in shower in the case of a bath renovation can become true.
Installed in your bathroom floor, hidden and with quiet operation, the PLANCOFIX pumps your shower water to the wastewater pipe. Quite simple and exactly as you imagined.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE LEVEL-ACCESS SHOWER WITH PLANCOFIX
How much does the PLANCOFIX cost and where can I get it?
If you are planning to install a Plancofix as a barrier-free shower, it is best to contact your installer regarding the price.
When is a level-access shower possible?
The basic requirements for the installation of a barrier-free shower are a sufficient construction height of the floor in the bathroom, a hot and cold water connection for the fittings and a usable drainage pipe. Before PLANCOFIX, there was no possibility for owners of existing properties to realize a walk-in shower. The reason is that without a floor drain pump, the drain line must be installed deep enough into the screed for the water to flow to the nearest downspout.
How much gradient does a level-access shower need?
Normally, the slope in a shower at ground level should have 1-2%. This will ensure that the water will drain. Also, the shower tray dries faster this way. However, if the installation height is not high enough (e.g. because the barrier-free shower is to be retrofitted in an old building), our PLANCOFIX floor drain pump is the solution.
